The Tectonic M2.0 Vibration Machine is the first non-dual motor offering by Tectonic Vibrations. Most of their machines are typically rated for home and light commercial use and the M2.0 vibration machine is no exception. The Tectonic M2.0 is a pivotal (Oscillation) vibration machine. The platform moves side to side like a teeter totter and helps to simulate walking when you are on the platform. The whole machine itself is a little larger than the typical machine, probably due to its square shape and ridiculously strong handlebar system (more on that later).
The machine measures 28″ x 25″ and stands 58″ tall and is rated to support users up to 440 lbs. Two metal poles make up the foundation for the handle bar with a beam that attaches them together. A horizontal handle bar is mounted just above this beam and can be used when you go for an exercise position that requires you to bend your knees more then the regular standing stance. Two more handles come out towards the front of the machine about 9″ from the vertical poles and this makes up the entire handlebar system. These handlebars are probably the best industrial strength handlebars you can find on any vibration machine and can easily handle 70-100% of a person’s weight if holding onto a handlebar is paramount to that person’s stability and to maintain an erect position on the machine. You definitely should not try this, but the M2.0s handlebar was able to handle my tricep dips with ease (hands pushing down on the bars, with both feet completely off the platform). The vibration machine does not rock and weighs at a healthy 132 lbs that makes this machine solidly grounded to the floor without you worrying that it will tip over if you lean on the handlebar. Just make sure to never tip, push, or pull the M2.0 vibration machine completely forward or backwards with all your might.
The control panel on the Tectonic M2.0 vibration machine is very large and wide. It spans from one end of the machine to the other end. There are a total of 12 buttons on the control panel. On the left and right side are 4 quick buttons aligned in a diagonal. The left buttons are quick set buttons that controls the time that you want to run the machine–10, 8, 5, or 3 minutes, and the right buttons are quick set buttons that controls the speed–High (25 Hz), Med (16 Hz), Low (5 Hz), Auto (Hz setting automatically change during your workout). These are essentially shortcut buttons without manually the speed up (+) or speed down (-) buttons in the center of the control panel. The Auto program automatically changes the speed of the machine for 10 minutes and is the only pre-programmed routine available. 4 other buttons–Time +, Time -, Start/Stop, Speed +, and Speed – are located in the center of the panel.
The vibration machine is adjustable in 0.1 Hz increments so there is a variety of speeds you can choose and will definitely tailor to a multitude of users. This works out to about 260 Hz settings from 5.0 Hz through 30 Hz in 0.1 Hz increments! The machine uses a 1000 W motor and it definitely reflects that when you are standing on the machine. Although you should never do this, I stood on one side of the platform with both my feet and the machine had absolutely no problems lifting me up and there is no slowdown in the lift, although I felt like I was bouncing up and down.
The Tectonic M2.0 is quite simple in design. It has one of the best handlebar systems of any vibration machine on the market and the control panel is made in such a way that simplifies the usage without having to fiddle around with the controls much. The quick set buttons are excellent for clinics or professional environments where ease of use and operation of the machine is critical and all one needs to do is press start and one additional speed button. The wide platform, bundled with a machine weight of roughly 134 pounds make this machine pretty solid even at the higher settings of 30 Hz, and should not rock or tip even if leaned on slightly. For residential users, if you don’t care for the pre-set programs then it is not very difficult to recommend this as the vibration machine to go for compared to the lighter duty oscillation machines. For professional users, you wouldn’t want anything less. The Tectonic M2.0 has one of the most powerful oscillation motors utilized in a vibration system at 1000 W and and the handle bars make it superb for a wider range of audiences–light and heavy users, with good or poor balance.
